What’s a ‘fistbump’?
A fistbump is a quick, free way to get another Bro's attention without writing a message - like a poke. You can fistbump each Bro once; you can bump him again once he has bumped you back, or when the week rolls over. There is no limit on how many different Bros you can fistbump.
Why was my photo denied?
BRO is for men looking for friends, dates and more, and every profile needs a clear face pic. Photos are declined when there is no clear face, or for nudity, solicitation, heavy filters, or anything that is not a photo of you. You can add a different photo at any time from Edit Profile.
Where can I find my Matches? Favorites?
Matches have their own tab at the bottom of the app; your Favorites are on the same screen, one tap over. You can favorite any Bro from the star on his profile.
How can I block or report another Bro?
Open his profile and tap the Block tile - it opens a sheet where you choose Block or Report. Reports are anonymous, a person reviews every report, and repeated reports lead to a ban. Blocking is unlimited, and you can unblock anyone later from the List of Blocked Users under Settings.
How can I link my social accounts?
Open Edit Profile, scroll down to the social links and tap the network you want to add, then enter your username for it. Check that the link opens correctly before you save.
Why am I presented a BRO wait list?
BRO is for adults 18 and over. You will only see the wait list screen if the birthday you entered during sign-up made you under 18. If that was a typo, e-mail help@broapp.com from the address on your account and we will sort it out.
Why can't I see more daily bros?
The number of Daily Bros depends on how many Bros are near you and how many have already been shown to you. You can view up to 30 Daily Bros a day, or up to 100 with BRO Premium. If your deck runs out, widening your age range is the one filter that will show you more - distance is already widened for you automatically. Travel Mode, on both iPhone and Android with Premium, also lets you see Daily Bros in another city.
How can I delete my account?
Open Settings, tap Delete Account and confirm. This deletes your whole account - photos, messages, matches and favorites - and it cannot be undone. If you only want a break, choose Pause Account instead: it hides your profile until you switch it back on. Full details of what is removed are at https://www.broapp.com/delete-account. If you still need help, e-mail delete@broapp.com.
How do I update the home city listed on my Profile?
Open Edit Profile and change your home city there. Your home city is separate from your live distance, which updates as you move. If you still need help, please e-mail help@broapp.com.
How does BRO Premium work?
BRO Premium is a subscription, and the plans differ by store. On iPhone you can choose 3 months (which starts with a 7-day free trial), 6 months or 12 months. On Android you can choose 1 month (which starts with a 7-day free trial), 6 months or 12 months. The current price is always shown in the app before you subscribe; prices vary by country and can change. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or your Google Play account, and the subscription renews within 24 hours before the end of the current period unless auto-renewal is turned off. To manage it or turn off auto-renewal: on iPhone go to Settings > your Apple Account > Subscriptions; on Android open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions. A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
What is the blue paper airplane next to the user's name?
Travel Mode lets you browse and match in another city. It is a BRO Premium feature for accounts at least 7 days old, on both iPhone and Android. The blue airplane next to a Bro's name means he has Travel Mode switched on right now.
Why does the user's distance (mi/km) not match their listed City?
The distance listed in the user's profile is how far they are from you, while the city listed is their home city. The distance is dynamic and updates frequently, while the city remains the same unless a user changes it.
Do you have a Privacy Policy?
Yes, Please visit https://www.broapp.com/privacy for our current Privacy Policy.
Why do I need an approved photo to use Daily Bros?
Daily Bros only opens once you have a photo that has been approved. A clear face pic is approved automatically, usually within seconds - so if yours is still under review, adding a clearer one is the fastest way in. Photos are declined for no clear face, nudity, solicitation or heavy filters.
What is Ghost Mode?
Ghost Mode is a BRO Premium feature that makes you invisible while you browse - you can look without appearing in other Bros' grids or decks, and without your views being recorded. Bros you have already liked or matched with are unaffected. You can switch it on from the ghost icon in the top corner, or in Settings, and switch it off the same way at any time.
Someone liked me - how do I see who?
Open Daily Bros and tap the 'likes you' pill at the top. You will always see how many Bros have liked you. With BRO Premium you can see exactly who they are and like them straight back, which creates the match immediately.
Can I undo a swipe?
Yes - tap the rewind button under the deck to bring back the last Bro you passed on. Rewind is a BRO Premium feature. It cannot bring back a Bro you have already matched or bromanced with, since that has already been sent.
How do I stop getting notifications?
Open Settings in the app and switch off the notification types you do not want - they are listed separately, so you can keep matches and messages while turning off the rest. You can also turn BRO notifications off entirely in your phone's own settings: on iPhone under Settings > Notifications > BRO, and on Android under Settings > Apps > BRO > Notifications.
I think my account was banned by mistake. What can I do?
You can appeal from inside the app - the ban screen has an appeal option that sends your case straight to us. You can also e-mail help@broapp.com from the address on your account. Please include anything that helps us check, and we will review it and write back.
How do I log in? I used to sign in with Facebook.
BRO signs you in with your phone number (we text you a code) or with Sign in with Apple. Facebook login is no longer available. If your old account was linked to Facebook, sign in with the phone number on that account, or use Sign in with Apple and choose Share My Email with the same e-mail address, and we will find it for you. If we cannot find your account, e-mail help@broapp.com.
What is a Bromance?
A Bromance tells a Bro you are extra interested and puts you in front of him right away. Everyone gets one free Bromance a week; BRO Premium gives you one every day, and you can buy packs of 5, 10 or 15 in the app. A Bromance sends him a notification, so it cannot be taken back.
Can I react to a message, or unsend one?
Yes. Tap and hold a message to react to it with an emoji, or to unsend a message you sent. Reactions and unsend are free; BRO Premium adds an extra set of reactions. Bros on an older version of the app see your reaction as a short message instead.
How do I pause my account?
Open Settings and tap Pause Account. Your profile disappears from every grid and deck and you stop getting new messages until you switch it back on from the same place. Your matches, favorites and messages are kept.
Is BRO only for adults?
Yes. BRO is for adults 18 and over, and we have zero tolerance for anyone under 18 on the app. Every photo is screened when it is uploaded and every report is reviewed by a person. You can read our Child Safety Standards at https://www.broapp.com/child-safety.
Why can't I see a Bro's age or distance?
He has Hide Age or Hide Distance switched on, which are BRO Premium settings. With Premium you can hide yours the same way under Settings.
How do I contact support?
Open Settings and tap Support & Feedback, or e-mail help@broapp.com from the address on your account. For account deletion requests use delete@broapp.com.
